My printer is only printing half a page regardless of how I connect the printer through wireless or usb cable. What is the source of this problem and how can I fix it? I already tried reinstalling the printer drivers and tried using the hp print and scan doctor.

Thank you for posting on HP Support Forums. It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts, and other support personnel. I came across your post and wanted to assist you.
I see from the post that you are having issues with the printer printing half pages, don't worry as I have a few steps which should help you resolve this issue. In the meantime, let's start off by performing a Hard reset on the printer and make sure that the printer is connected directly to the wall outlet and not to the surge protector. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
Wait for minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge. Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
If the printer is making a good copy, then the printer hardware is fine. Connect the USB cable only when prompted and then follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.

If the printer print's fine with a windows OS, then Yes you are right. Thanks for the update. If that's the case, you could try an OS re-install with the Chromebook, and then add the printer again, and check it out. That would work. The printer is only a few months old and worked properly from the start. Now when I go to print something it starts and will print a few lines then stop do nothing for a bit then spit out the unfinished job.

Didn't find what you were looking for?Often when you print it will draw the paper in but just sit there, you can see the paper from where it comes out. The printer then complains of a paper jam even though the paper isn't jammed at all. You can press the button on top which will pull in a new bit of paper and it will discard the paper it just took, then take another and sometimes print as normal.
This happens nearly every time you try to print. I've changed the ink, cleaned the printer it's practically new! The printer might go through a warm-up period. I switched on the printer f and pressed the power button then while it was still pressed i pressed the X cancel button 3 times then the copy color button green 7 times and then released the power button. I had to disconnect it from the mains as it was not stopping. Here is what happens.
The minute i switch on the printer it makes noises then sucks the paper in and stops half way. No jam. It just sucks paper in half the way and says no more paper in input tray. I am having the same problem with my HP Photosmart C Each time I send a print job to it, the printer will start to print and then pull a piece of paper through halfway and stop.
It flashes that it is printing and nothing happens. I hit the red X to cancel and nothing happens, just flashing that it is canceling.
I've tried everything, cleaning the rollers, the power reset, disconnecting and shutting down the printer, the computer. When I turn the printer back on it will feed a piece of paper halfway and stop. Or if the paper is still in when it is turned on, it will feed it out and grab another and hold it halfway. I'm still having this issue. Not long after the original post it came back to life and often just turning the printer on and off would fix it, but not always.
Sometimes I have to reinstall the printer to get it to work. Which it does for only a couple of days. I barely needed to use the printer thank god but now my partner is studying its back in action and this printer is still misbehaving.

Worked my way through the System Preferences and Reset Printing System eventualy got to Add Button, selected my printer, at this stage it was calling my printer OfficeJet Pro but it is actualy OfficeJet Prothis may not make any difference, but thought I would mention it.

Step 1. Uninstall the Drivers: the instructions you sent me is for a Windows OS my one is Apple iMac, so if you have the instructions for Apple could you send them please. The thing is I am not sure what the fix was. It was saying that the software was not installed correctly, so I decided that I would have a go at installing everything the next morning. The next morning I had some stuff that I needed to print so I just went ahead and printed it and it worked perfectly.
I wasn't sure if it was a one off or something else, but everything I printed just went straight through with no delays on any pages. Well I just hope it stays that way and that the next OS upgrade from Apple doesn't do something else to it. Sandytechy20 I am an HP Employee. Hi TulipElizabeth. I understand you are having difficulty printing full pages consistently. I wonder if deleting the driver from the printer Server Properties, then deleting the printer from the Device and printers, and then re-adding it again might resolve the issue.
Please use the steps below, if the issue persists after this solution, I will gladly return with another plan of action.
Choose 'Remove driver only'. The next screen will give a warning, letting you know that deleting the driver package will remove it from the system. The Setup and software screen will open and you can click on Connect a new printer.
Please let me know the outcome of these solutions. If the issue persists we will work together to see this through. Hi Marx51. Did you delete the driver from the Printer Server Properties as instructed above, or did you simply remove the printer from the Device and Printers and re-add it? I understand you have the print settings adjusted correctly, can you please perform a copy from your to ensure the issue you are experiencing is not the printer itself. I would also suggest you download the Firmware updater to obtain the lastest firmware for the Photosmart If the issue persist, feel free to post back and I will gladly follow up with alternate solutions.
The specified printer driver is currently in use Hi Marx51. I have seen that message before. Can you remove the printer from the Device and Printers and then delete the driver from the Server Properties? Other possible solutions regarding the printer 'in use' message is to, restart the computer, and the printer, and then try again. If you can remove the printer and then still can't delete the driver, thats okay, we can skip that step and proceed with re-adding the printer.
With regards to the firmware, can you connect a USB cable temporarily and try the firmware update again? Let me know how this works out. I'd certainly like to see this resolved.
I couldnt delete driver after I deleted printer and I did hook up a usb chord and it still wont update. I am still here to work with you.
Bear with me, I am going to do some research to see what else could be causing this and what steps we can try next. I will return shortly with an alternate solution. Thanks for your patience.
